beneficial properties of flavonoids applied to the study are based on the ability of these chemicals to increase blood flow to the brain.

To perform the experiment, the researchers recruited 30 individuals, who were asked to count backwards by threes starting from a random number between 800 and 999 located.

Then, the subjects drank hot chocolate and returned to repeat the test.

Scientists found that individuals made the calculations much faster after drinking the beverage and also noted how they were less tired after performing the operations.

Note that each of the participants ingested a total of 500 milligrams of flavonoids, an amount higher than normally present in any diet.

The team said he will now begin to study the effects of ingestion of smaller amounts of flavonoids, about 100 milligrams present in any chocolate bar.
